If I kept my foot on the gas pedal while it was slowing down, after it slowed down enough, it started to speed up again. Then it seemed each time I got up to speed it would start bogging down. When I put everything back together it had a nasty backfire. I took the torque converter off and checked everything out, but it looked fine. Today after I was driving around the yard awhile I noticed the engine was a little noisier than usual and seemed to lose power when going faster a couple times. I've planned on using only ethanol free gas, but I didn't have any on hand so I used some mid grade (89 octane) gas I just bought. The last time I drove it it ran out of gas for the first time since I bought it. Sounds like what my predator 420cc started doing today. Any helpful ideas and suggestions are much appreciated. Wouldn’t the engine still accelerate up to speed smoothly and just cruise at a lower RPM than it’s able to? I have a catch can and fuel pump on the way so I can relocate the tank and hopefully get a better flow of fuel. My roommate seems to think it’s the governor however I’m not so sure. Is the motor not getting enough fuel because of the angled mount? My tank is always full. If I let off the gas for a few seconds and go full throttle again, it will quickly speed up but I am still not able to cruise at full throttle without surging and bogging. When I finally went out for a test ride, the kart would run at full throttle for a moment and then bog and surge while I still had my foot pressed all the way down. The motor sits on a fifteen degree motor mount just above the back tire. Shortly after that I installed an aftermarket exhaust, air intake, and a. I did the three hour break in and replaced the oil. I recently bought a brand New Predator 212cc. Hey folks, sorry if this is a dumb or frequently asked question but I’m pretty new to this stuff and I can’t seem to find a definitive answer regarding my exact issue.
